Pelagia: The Second Age

On Hold...
January 3 2008

After a lot of teeth gnashing and tearing out of hair, Gugglebun and Lazjen have decided to put Pelagia on hold indefinitely. Like many Persistent World developers, we have found that developing in the NWN2 system is more suited to large production teams, not small teams like ourselves. While we were making some progress, sadly it has not been enough to be able to go Live.

Hopefully, in the future, some other system will come along that will allow us to be able to re-create our dream of Pelagia, so that others may enjoy it and make it come alive once again.

Creating the First Areas

With all the current problems concerning the implementation of Custom Content into NWN2, Gugglebun has decided to put that side of things on hold for now. She has turned to creating the first areas for the module, beginning with the town of Peralan...

Custom Content
January 14 2007

Having played around for a while in the toolset, Gugglebun has now learned enough to begin making Custom Content specific to our world of Pelagia. She is currently working on creating custom cloaks, robes, shields and holy symbols for each of our 19 gods. It is a huge learning process, but some good progress has already been made.

Lazjen continues to work hard on creating and updating his nifty plugins. You can check them out on our Downloads page.

Development has Begun!

Since the release of NWN2, we've been busy playing the game and getting to know the toolset even more. Lazjen's continuing to work on his nifty plugins and Gugglebun has begun development on the first areas for Pelagia!

NWN2 Released in Australia
November 19 2006

Finally, NWN2 has been released in Australia. We've updated our plugins for the release (up to Patch 1.0.2). Also, we've got a new plugin for managing creature and placeable blueprint inventories: Lazjen's Inventory Manager. Time to go play the game! :)

NWN2 Toolset Plugins

The NWN2 Toolset is now out and we've got some goodies for downloading. The new toolset provides a facility for extra features to be added to the toolset as plugins. Our downloads page features two plugins we've created so far - an Icon Viewer and a Store Manager. Try them out!

More on Cosmology

We have continued to work on the Cosmology of Pelagia and now have even more details of the creation, the planes and the realms. Also, the new god Gruwold. has been completed. Each of the gods now has an icon as well.

Behind the scenes, we have continued working on our Wiki, fleshing out the world even more with details on the various creatures, NPCs and items.

We have more details on the Cosmology of Pelagia. There are details of the Creation, the planes and a diagram of the planar structure. Also, we've expanded our gods to 19 and are working on the new addition: Gruwold.

Latest Map of Arcata

Yes, we have been busy! Those who are familiar with the old map of Arcata Island from Dark Tide will immediately see that quite a few changes have been made. These changes reflect our overall refocusing for Pelagia: The Second Age. Instead of attempting to introduce ALL the Regions of Pelagia from the very beginning, we are now centralising upon just Arcata. As a result, Arcata has been fleshed out in greater detail and includes some aspects from Dark Tide's other Regions.

A Rose by Any Other Name...

With the closing of the Dark Tide NWN Server, we are taking the opportunity to make a few changes. We are now focussing fully upon the future and we are creating a world that will be rich in interest for Players and DMs alike. A part of this focus has been the consolidation of our two naming schemes of Dark Tide and the World of Pelagia. From this day forth, for simplicity's sake, Dark Tide and the World of Pelagia will now be simply known as "Pelagia: The Second Age".

Dark Tide Server Status and NWN2 outlook
June 17 2006

The current Dark Tide NWN server will be closing down on June 30 2006. We are following the development progress of NWN 2 by Obsidian Entertainment. If it is feasible for us to produce a new PW in NWN2, we will do so. While we are waiting for the release, we will be working on more material for Pelagia and Dark Tide to assist with the development process and add to the roleplaying material available to DMs and players.

We are also considering producing Dark Tide multiplayer modules in NWN2. If a PW is not feasible for us, this is the most likely NWN2 development we will pursue.
