The Gods and Their Followers

The world of Pelagia has its own set of deities, which we have created from scratch. They are quite unique.

  • Unlike standard D&D gods, the gods of Pelagia do not have an Alignment. Therefore, a good person and an evil person may venerate the same god.

  • Also, unlike standard D&D, the clerics, paladins, rangers and druids of Pelagia must serve a particular god, not a cause or some other power.

  • Clerics must take certain mandatory domains, chosen from the list supplied for each god. This is to ensure a close focus on their particular chosen god. If other restrictions are listed, they must be adhered to as well.

  • Within the domains list, a (M) means mandatory and must be chosen. The domains are a NWN game engine issue, not for RP. For example, a LG Cleric of the War god, Kotuzin can take the Evil domain. This Cleric is defined as being of the god Kotuzin, not by the domains chosen.

  • In the world of Pelagia, the domain of Evil isn’t “evil” as such, but it is simply just another type of divine power. (We would rename the domain, if we could!) Thus, a cleric can choose both Good and Evil domains and not be in conflict.

  • The "Preferred Multiclass" is the most likely class(es) a cleric of the god will have or take if not single class. This is not a mandatory restriction, but a guide to the majority of multiclass clerics of each god.

  • The gender of the god is listed. Some gods are both genders - they are known to take both male and female forms as desired and are not known to favour one over the other.

  • As with any pantheon, each god has its own domain/sphere of influence. The gods are defined within their spheres of influence, rather than racially. Their power derives from the number and strength of their followers, regardless of race. Some races refer to the Gods by a name in their own language, while others will use both the common name and the racial name.

  • Except for priests and others of devout standing, most beings pray to whichever god is appropriate for their needs, situation or station in life. Thus, most temples across Pelagia are dedicated to all the gods and are known as "The Temple of the Gods".

There are 19 Pelagian gods.
